Transforming the world since 2017
Our Story
The Disability and Rehabilitation Association of Ghana (DARAGH) stands as a beacon of hope and transformation for persons with disabilities in Ghana. Founded by the visionary Nathaniel Larbi Andah on September 23rd, 2017, DARAGH emerged from a deep conviction that persons with disabilities deserve not only recognition but also full inclusion and empowerment within Ghanaian society and beyond.
DARAGH was officially registered with the Registrar-General Department on December 10th, 2018, and gained further legitimacy through registration with the Department of Social Welfare on October 24th, 2019. From its inception, DARAGH has operated as a registered not-for-profit organization, uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between policy and practice in the field of disability and rehabilitation.
Central to our mission is the CBR Matrix, a globally recognized framework for Community-Based Rehabilitation, which includes five key pillars: Health, Education, Livelihood, Social, and Empowerment. Through these pillars, we implement targeted programs and collaborative partnerships with other organizations and professionals.
One of the defining qualities of DARAGH is its transdisciplinary coming together of local and international collaborators under a shared vision of all-inclusive development. By mobilizing these synergies, DARAGH delivers tailored rehabilitation packages that are respectfully sensitive to the unique needs of persons with disabilities and communities alike. Whether it is organizing outreach clinics in hard-to-reach villages, distributing assistive devices, or supporting inclusive education initiatives, or even if they are advocating policy reform, DARAGH spares no effort in making sure no one is left behind.
